United Nations Environment Programme

United Nations Environment Programme is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system, and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. Sustainable Cities is one of the priority areas pursued by the organisation. Building on research by the International Resource Panel, UN Environment is working with national and local government officials, technical experts, private sector and communities on pathways towards circularity and promoting integrated urban systems to address the 3-D Decoupling, Detoxyfying and Decarbonising.
